Michael Aman is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Ohio State University. Aman was co-developer of the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC), a standardized scale for assessing treatments in intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ABC has been used in approximately 500 scientific studies and translated into more than 35 languages. Clinical conditions of high interest include ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, conduct/oppositional-defiant disorder, and seizure disorders in children.
Aman led the Treatment of Severe Child Aggression (TOSCA) network, was director of the O.S.U. Research Unit on Pediatric Psychopharmacology, and was PI at O.S.U. of the CHART (Children with Hyperactivity and Autism Research Treatment) studies. Aman has served on the editorial boards of 12 journals, and as associate editor for three of these. He has well over 300 scientific publications, including two editions of Practitioner’s Guide to Psychoactive Drugs for Children and Adolescents.
